Episode 42: With Nathan Lindquist - Assistant City Manager and Planning Director for the city of Rifle, CO
We speak with Nathan Lindquist who is the Assistant City Manager and Planning Director for the city of Rifle, Colorado. We discuss the impacts of Covid-19 on city planning, zoning and how that has changed the work he does. We also discuss the protest and policing and the demographic of police officers and why that trend exists. We hear how even his small community had organized protests. We also discuss the notion of civil service and how there are changes to be made systemically while working within the system and how to perhaps have that appeal to a younger generation. We hit on the costs of infrastructure and how that is the invisible cost that takes resources away from much needed community funding. A great conversation and many things to consider as we are planning our cities and towns post-Covid.
