We speak with Joe Kendrick - Director of Programming and Operations at 88.7 WNCW radio station. Joe speaks about the different outreach they have done at the radio station trying to help artists through these trying times. We speak about all of the venues that they have so heavily supported over the years and the impact on them is heavy felt as well as the impact on our own lives through the loss of live music. We speak of what sort of renaissance of music may happen due to the amount of time at home artists are having right now and how that might bring a whole wave of creativity. We consider a future through all of this and how we must value artists and the art they create so that they can not only survive the Covid-19 era, but also when we are able to gather together again.
Joe also hosts a monthly podcast called Southern Songs and Stories that features interviews and live recordings of many wonderful artists from around the south. We highly reccomend that you give it a listen.
