The Great Reset

Episode 49: With Dan Pontefract - BEST-SELLING AUTHOR, KEYNOTE SPEAKER, THINKER AND LEADERSHIP STRATEGIST

July 14, 2020

We speak with Dan Pontefract, a wonderful human being who brings a worldview that focuses on a just and purpose driven society. Dan is a best-selling author, a keynote speaker, a thinker and leadership strategist.  He writes for Forbes and for the Harvard Business Review.  We were intrigued by Dan when we read his June 12th article This Moment Calls For The Great Reset.  Dan digs into how we approach business and how the motivations for having a business should be centered in a greater good and not only on self-profit.  What is the purpose of of doing business?  How do business owners consider the importance of community service, service to employees, service to the environment and service to an overall good?  We cover many points including the difference in the Canadian (Dan is Canadian) and the United States approach to Covid-19 and why that difference exists.  We examine how every system in our Western Society is being examined for its weaknesses and things that need changed.  Dan highlights the value of humanity and our ability to respond together to a crisis - highlighted by our responses to the Great Depression, The Third Reich, and putting a man on the moon.  We have that grit and audacity and we can deal with Covid-19 if we come together and work towards humanity solving this unprecedented problem placed in front of us.  A great conversation with an ambitious and thoughtful human being.
